Safety Information for Women
Caroline clenched her fists and swiped away the tears on her cheeks. Although how she could tell tears from the rain was a moot question.
“How did I let myself get in this situation,” she nervously asked herself as she glanced furtively at her surroundings. Trudging along a deserted country road as the rain continued to swirl around her prompted her to once again question her own intelligence.
Normally fearless and independent the events leading her up to this point were hardly ordinary. She and her fiancé had quarreled and she stomped off in a huff not paying attention to the threatening weather.
She had barely reached the deserted road that led to her sisters house when the downpour began. The next thing she knew her car jerked to the right and almost landed her in the ditch that was rapidly filling with runoff along the country road.
Yep, that tire was definitely flat. Jumping back into the warm car she grabbed her cell phone and was treated to zero service. “Now what will I do,” she asked herself.
Foolishly, no one knows where she was heading, not even her sister. Her car is incapacitated and her cell phone useless. Her only choice had been to start walking.
It sounds like Caroline has gotten herself in a mess. Fortunately, in this instance everything worked out fine when a county sheriff happened to come along and “save” her. She was lucky.
